Allegretto - Allegro non troppo The work begins with an introductory Allegretto section, which is developed from a duet between solo trumpet and Symphony No. 1 in F minor Opus 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich was written in 19241925, and first performed in Leningrad by the Leningrad Philharmonic under Nikolai Malko on 12 May 1926. Shostakovich wrote the work as his graduation piece at the Petrograd Conservatory, completing it at the age of 19. The fair copy of the authors manuscript1 was dated on the last page 1 July 1925. At the beginning of December 1924, the first two movements of the symphony were ready.
