Johan Van Roy has been producing harsh electronic music under the monicker of Suicide Commando for some time, and Mindstrip does not mark a departure from this idea. This release is more of what fans of Suicide Commando have come to expect - aggressive, danceable electronica with distorted vocals and hard drum loops on a solid line. Album 2000 10 Songs. For live shows, it consists of Van Roy himself on vocals, Torben Schmidt on keyboards, and Mario Vaerewijck on drums. Van Roy began experimenting with electronic music back in 1986. Two years later he released his first tape under the moniker Suicide Commando, and his track appeared on the vinyl compilation Electronic. One might also argue that the album as a whole is way to repetitive and too much of a change compared to Van Roy's previous works, and while this is true for some parts and though I like the old releases, I don't mind but instead enjoy this very good album. No weak tracks on this one and actually it's more versatile than one may think on the first listening.
